At this point you should already know that Jay-Z’s DJ, Neil Armstrong, is a good friends of ours so anytime he does something big we want to promote it. During his last visit to Toronto in October he had cameras following him for 24 hours to chronicle and document a day in his life. Peep the outcome and try and spot the Big Jacks cameo!

One of my favourite house records of 2009 finally has a video, and it’s sho nuff funky! I’m really excited to hear the rest of this Duck Sauce project when it’s released at the end of the month. From what I know the project consists of Armand Van Helden and A-Trak making disco influenced house music (think late 90’s-early 2000 filtered house/french touch sound ie. Daft Punk, Stardust, Modjo) using Van Helden’s record collection. Personally I feel this soulful sound has been missing in a lot of the electronic music of today, so if this lead single (b/w “you’re nasty) is any indication of what’s in store then i’m all for it!
The full length Duck Sauce EP drops Oct 26th but look out for “Anyway” on an upcoming Big Jacks electronic mix as well as the original funk sample for the song on the forthcoming DJ Eleven+Big Jacks mix collabo!

Here’s some exclusive flava for ya’ll that i whipped together the other night. Music lovers and DJs alike should enjoy what i did here. “Saturday Love” is one of my all time favourite 80’s joints, i love playing this at any gig i can and i love hearing when other DJs run it. However, most DJs (myself included) can have A.D.D., which leads to them playing only the first verse of this song, Cherrelle’s verse. Alexander O’Neal rarely gets his time to shine so i came up with a solution to that. With the magic of editing i’ve turned the song into even more of duet style piece where the best of both worlds meet in one verse! If you’ve never noticed in the past, lyrically both of their verses are pretty much the same so it makes sense! I also introduce the wonderful bridge after the second chorus, which is originally found at the end of the song, that no one ever plays! Listen, enjoy, spin it, share it, but give credit!
