Backroad Radio : Feb 22, 2011

This week on Backroad Radio, we hit y’all from all angles (pause!). Royale set the show of with new Joints and recent bangers. Music from Malcom and martin, Tona, Kev Brown, Lil’ Kim and much more. Also new Rick Ross produced by Alchemist. Secondly, in spirit of Saigon’s latest release, “The Greatest Story Never Told”, Bozack provided a special Saigon set with his pre-album joints. Definitely street rap at it’s finest. Thirdly, Big Jacks took on the throwback this week with crazy “Can-con” set. We’re talking 90’s classics from Redlife (shouts to Rexdale), Ghetto Concept, Concrete Mob, Saukrates, Kardi, Graphidi Logik, and more. To end the show, we had special guest Phill Vassell, from the Toronto Urban music Festival. He came by to talk about Canadian Urban Music week (which is this week) and it’s events. He also chopped it up with us about the state of urban music in Toronto.
