Backroad Radio – Nov 5th, 2012

It wasn’t all that long ago that it was early 2000 and something and names like Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, The Diplomats, Freeway, and Young Gunz were all highly respected names in the game. A new comer by the name of Kanye West began to bubble too and there you had the making of Rocafella records in its prime, of course headed up by none other than Jay-Z himself. This week we shine our throwback spotlight on the Rocafella records dynasty in their hay day as Royale ran through some of the classics records they released during their reign. A must listen for all Rocafella fans, throw ya diamonds in the sky if ya feel the vibe.

Toronto MC Infu passed through this week to world premier his new record “let it out” off his forthcoming 25 to Life project. He also hit us with a few off the top of the head rhymes that you’ll wanna hear for sure. Take note of the kid.

Seattle was also in the house this week as we were joined by DJ Charma (pron. Karma) and ZNi who are in town as part of Xzibit’s collateral damage Canadian tour. See what these fellas have been up to.

It feels like forever but we finally brought back Run That or Bun That. The newest rapper everyone is talking about on the internet, Trinidad James, was the subject under examination this week. Wait till you hear what people had to say about him and the joint!

New music courtesy of Bozack with joints from Kendrick Lamar, Bruiser Brigade, Lupe Fiasco, Pusha T feat. Future, J-Zone feat Breezly Brewin, Goldie Glo, Trinity (Sadat X & AG), and much more.
